What to take from it
- The run was over before the open. The $3.99 high came at 7:32 a.m., two hours before the bell, and the open at $2.95 was already 26% below it.
- A big bid is a level until it's eaten. The $2.75 bid broke in 0.6 seconds and the $2.50 bid in 2.6 seconds. The price kept falling after each one.
- Almost all of the move was gone by the close. It closed at $2.19, 45% below the high and near where it started at $2.10.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for LPCN published between the previous session's close and the first minute LPCN traded 20% above it, at 6:31 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.

8-K
How it traded

| Time (ET) | What happened | Watch it |
|---|---|---|
| 6:10 a.m. | SEC filing 8-K: 8-K | |
| 6:31 a.m. | First trade 20% above the previous close of 2.10 | |
| 7:00 a.m. | Volume since 4:00 a.m. passes the whole float, 7.98 million shares | |
| 7:32 a.m. | Pre-market high, 3.99 | |
| 7:32 a.m. | High of the day to the close, 3.99 | |

| 3:59 p.m. | Last trade before the 4:00 p.m. close, 2.19, 45.1% below the high |
The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
