The day before and the pre-market
On October 6, DKI traded between $1.35 and $1.53 on 48,966 shares. The official close was $1.36.
The data shows no news headline for October 7. Some pre-market minutes had a single share trade. The pre-market high was $1.55 at 9:10 a.m. 6,384 shares traded before the bell.
The open and the first halt
It opened at $1.27, down 7% from the previous close. That was the low so far. The 9:30 minute traded 16,654 shares, including a 15,300-share print at $1.27. By 9:33 it was back to $1.40.
Then it crept higher. At 10:22 it was $1.59.
At 10:24 it jumped to $1.96 on 13,978 shares. At 10:24:51 it was halted (a volatility pause) with the last trade at $1.95.
Three halts in 33 minutes
It reopened at 10:36:38 at $2.41, 24% above where it stopped. A single print of 49,687 shares went through at $2.41. In the same minute it ran to $2.69. The next minute it dropped to $2.10. By 10:39, more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (856,312).
It ran to $2.92 and was halted again at 10:40:53. It reopened at 10:50:53 at $3.16. An 82,174-share print went through at that price. It touched $3.42 at 10:51.
Then it turned. At 10:51:05 a sell sweep of 18,565 shares went through five price levels, from $3.02 to $2.98. At 10:52:21 another sell sweep of 22,487 shares went through ten levels, from $3.01 to $2.92.
At 10:52:25 someone started offering stock at exactly $2.53. By 10:52:35 it was 115,395 shares, 13.5% of the float. At 10:52:39 the stock was halted a third time. The wall was pulled at 10:57:15, while trading was still stopped.
It reopened at 10:57:39 at $2.42, below the $2.53 where it stopped. The first halt reopened higher. This one reopened lower. By 10:58 it hit $2.11, 38% under the $3.42 high. One second after that reopen, buying 5,000 shares at 10:57:40 would have averaged $2.45 against $2.44 on screen, but only 50 shares were there, and the order cost $73 more.
The bid at $2.00 and the fourth halt
From 10:58 on, someone was bidding for a lot of stock at exactly $2.00. It peaked at 83,320 shares at 10:59:21, about 10% of the float. The stock kept bouncing above it.
It ran from $2.11 to $2.62 at 11:00, up 24%. From $2.25 at 11:02 it ran to $2.87 at 11:03, up 28%. By 11:08 it was back at $2.14. From 11:09 to 11:24 it stayed between $2.11 and $2.53.
At 11:25 it started again, from $2.23. It reached $3.28 at 11:30. At 11:30:53 it was halted a fourth time. It reopened at 11:35:53 at $3.27 on an 81,630-share print.
The run into midday
Right after the reopen, buyers came through the book. At 11:36:24 a buy sweep of 20,770 shares went through 13 levels, from $3.26 to $3.39. One second later another bought 17,742 shares from $3.40 to $3.45. At 11:37 the stock hit $3.58. By 11:40 the day's volume was about ten times the float.
It fell back to $2.86 at 11:42, then ran to $3.55 at 11:46. It dropped to $2.83 at 11:54, then ran to $3.51 at 12:00.
Since 11:55:42 there had been an ask wall at $3.67, just above the highs so far.
Stop It's 12:03. DKI is at $3.39. The high of the day so far is $3.58, and an ask wall sits at $3.67. Would you buy here?

By 12:09 it was at $2.88, 21% below the high.
The fade toward the $2.00 bid
It came back once more. At 12:11 it pushed to $3.17, a lower high under the $3.64 top. Then it slid. A sell sweep of 19,957 shares at 12:14:10 went from $2.85 to $2.77. By 12:20 it was $2.50, and by 12:46 it was $2.15.
Through all this the $2.00 bid was still on the book. Lows from 10:58 through 1:02 p.m. stayed at $2.03 or above.
Stop It's 1:03 p.m. DKI is at $2.06. A big bid has sat at $2.00 since 10:58 a.m. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 1:03 p.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 1:00 p.m. ET.
At 1:03:36, 13,852 shares traded at exactly $2.00. At 1:03:37 the bid was gone. The minute's low was $1.95. It hit $1.83 at 1:07 p.m.
A smaller bid at $1.82, peaking at 34,322 shares, had been there since 12:24:54. The stock held above it. At 1:10:43 a buy sweep of 25,678 shares went from $1.91 to $2.02 across 12 levels. Three seconds later that bid was pulled.
The stock drifted. It was $1.55 at 2:49 p.m. and $1.71 at the close, 53% below the high.
The totals and after hours
By the close, 16.58 million shares had traded: the float changed hands about 19 times, at about 102 times its normal volume. It was halted four times.
After hours it ran from $1.53 at 4:39 p.m. to $2.70 by 6:04 p.m., up 76%. After-hours volume was 1,955,996 shares.
What to take from it
- A halt can reopen either way. The 10:24 halt stopped at $1.95 and reopened at $2.41. The 10:52 halt stopped near $2.53 and reopened at $2.42.
- The first seconds after a reopen cost more than the screen showed. The book was thin: 500, 29, 50 and 573 shares at the screen price in the reopen fills above.
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $3.64 at 12:03, then $3.17 at 12:11. A large bid is a level, not a floor: the $2.00 bid held for about two hours and was gone in a second.
