The day before
On October 2, VEEA traded between $3.11 and $4.36 and closed at $3.33. After hours it was back up to $3.98. No news headline came with the data for either day.
Pre-market: the float traded by 5:10 a.m.
The first trades on the 5th were at $4.44, already above the $3.33 close. It slid to $3.87 by 4:24 a.m. That was the low so far. Then it turned. At 4:53 a.m. it hit $4.88.
By 5:10 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (1.85 million). From $4.33 at 5:01 a.m. it ran to $5.54 at 5:13 a.m. Two minutes later the 5:15 candle dropped to $4.83.
The second push came at 7 a.m. From $5.08 at 7:07 a.m. it ran to the pre-market high, $6.00 at 7:13 a.m. It pulled back to $5.70 by the end of that minute. 12.55 million shares traded before the bell.
The open
It opened at $5.34, up 60% from the previous close. The first minute was heavy, 158,193 shares, and it traded as low as $5.00. A 38,043-share print went through at $5.37 at 9:30:00.
Then it ranged between about $4.90 and $5.25 for 20 minutes. At 9:55 it jumped to $5.65 on 272,386 shares. It reached $5.78 at 9:56, still under the $6.00 pre-market high.
The walls above: $5.99, $6.00 and $5.70
This is the part a chart doesn't show you.

From 9:58 a.m. there was a third, at exactly $5.70. It peaked at 60,386 shares at 9:59 a.m. (3.3% of the float).
The stock then slid away from them. By 10:09 it was at $4.96, and it spent the late morning near $5.00.
At 11:33 it dropped again, to $4.73 on 125,529 shares. Bid walls had built below: $4.70 (52,421 shares at 11:33) and $4.50 (67,041 shares at 11:41). Both were pulled at 11:43. The low since the open came that same minute, $4.66 at 11:43.

What to take from it
- A wall can sit for hours and still break. The $5.70 ask wall stood for almost four hours, then buyers ate 39,278 shares in 2.5 seconds.
- The pre-market high is a level the stock has to earn. VEEA cleared $6.00 only at 2:07 p.m. After that, it halted.
- The reopen cost more than the screen showed. At 2:12:37, 600 shares sat at the screen price and a 5,000-share order averaged $6.40 and cost $132 more than the screen showed.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for VEEA published between the previous session's close and the first minute VEEA traded 20% above it, at 4:00 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.
No news found before the move.
How it traded
Gap, run and fade. It gapped up 60.4% to 5.34 at the open, ran from the open to the high of 6.75 in 324 minutes through a halt, then gave back 75% of that move by 4:00 p.m., trading at 5.70.
| Time (ET) | What happened | Watch it |
|---|---|---|
| 4:00 a.m. | First trade 20% above the previous close of 3.33 | |
| 5:10 a.m. | Volume since 4:00 a.m. passes the whole float, 1.85 million shares | |
| 7:13 a.m. | Pre-market high, 6.00 | |
| 9:30 a.m. | The open: 5.34, up 60.4% from the previous close | |
| 2:07 p.m. | Halted: LULD pause (limit up-limit down). Trading resumes at 2:12 p.m. | |
| 2:54 p.m. | High of the day to the close, 6.75 | |
| 3:59 p.m. | Last trade before the 4:00 p.m. close, 5.70, 15.6% below the high |
The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
The day in numbers
- Volume, from the one-minute bars: 12.55 million shares before the 9:30 a.m. open (53%), 1.93 million in the first 30 minutes (8%), and 9.18 million in the rest of the day to 8 p.m. (39%).
- Float rotation, the volume since 4 a.m. against the float of 1.85 million shares: past it once at 5:10 a.m., twice at 6:06 a.m., three times at 7:03 a.m.
- The halt at 2:07 p.m.: up 11.6% in the 5 minutes into it, reopened at 6.07, unchanged from the last trade before it, then up 2.5% over the next 5 minutes.
