- Catalyst: news
- Float traded 15x
- Round-number break
- Ask wall
- Faded into the close
Pre-market: quiet, then 8:00 a.m.
The previous close was $2.17. The day before, about 100,000 shares traded. Today's trades began at 4:14 a.m. at $2.18, and until 8:00 it barely moved. Most minutes had no trades at all.
At 8:00 a.m. GlobeNewsWire ran: “Veea Announces TROLLEE Agreement for Phased Deployment of VeeaONE to 1,000 Unattended Stores”. The 8:00 candle opened at $2.30 and closed at $2.71. By 8:02 it was at $2.90.
By 8:05 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (1.85 million). The 8:05 candle hit $3.26.
It kept pushing. The pre-market high was $3.51 at 8:28 a.m., and it touched $3.51 again at 8:37. Then it faded to $2.76 at 8:47. 12.48 million shares traded before the bell, and it was back near $3.00 by 9:30.
The open: $3.92, then $3.09
It opened at $2.98, up 37% from the previous close. The first minutes were busy. At 9:35 it cleared the $3.51 pre-market high, and at 9:36 it hit $3.92, the high of the morning.
The run didn't last. By 9:40 the candle had dropped to $3.15. By 9:47, pre-market and regular session together, the volume was ten times the float. At 9:57 it hit $3.09.
Two walls appeared on the book in this stretch. At 9:35 an ask wall appeared at exactly $4.00, above the $3.92 high. At 9:38 a bid wall appeared at $3.00 and grew to 50,232 shares at 9:58.
Walls at $4.00 and $3.50
The $4.00 wall kept growing. It peaked at 100,051 shares at 10:49, about 5% of the float. A second ask wall showed up at $3.50 at 10:48 and reached 90,951 shares by 2:49 p.m.
Meanwhile the price stayed between about $2.95 and $3.52 for hours. At 11:44 the $3.00 bid wall was pulled and the stock dipped to $2.95. From $3.04 at 11:54 it then crept back up on thin volume.
3:10 p.m.: the $3.40 wall
At 2:50 p.m. a third ask wall appeared, at $3.40. It peaked at 58,655 shares.
Stop It's 3:10. VEEA is at $3.36. A wall at $3.40 has been on the book since 2:50 and peaked at 58,655 shares at 3:09, and larger walls have built up at $3.50 and $4.00. Would you buy here?

3:26 p.m.: the walls at $3.50 and $4.00
Stop It's 3:26. VEEA is at $3.41. Ask walls sit above at $3.50 and at $4.00, both built up over hours. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 3:26 p.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 3:23 p.m. ET.
At 3:26:02 a buyer swept 82,904 shares from $3.48 to $3.58 across 11 price levels. The $3.50 wall traded 14,206 shares and was gone. One second later another sweep of 46,832 shares took it to $3.65.
Then at 3:26:20 trading at $4.00 began. In under a second, 92,906 shares traded at exactly $4.00 and the wall was gone. A single sweep of 104,843 shares ran from $3.98 to $4.08, the high of the day. That one minute traded 585,290 shares.
The fade
The high didn't hold. At 3:26 a new bid wall appeared at $3.54 and grew to 134,289 shares by 3:29. It was pulled at 3:31. By 3:47 the stock had traded as low as $3.56, and it dipped to $3.36 at 3:58. It closed the regular session at $3.47.
By the close, 28.23 million shares had traded, pre-market and regular session together: the float changed hands about 15 times, at about 5.4 times its normal volume.
What to take from it
- A big ask wall can sit for hours and still break in seconds. The $4.00 wall stood from 9:35 a.m. to 3:26 p.m., then 92,906 shares traded through it in under a second.
- Fills can cost more than the screen shows right after a wall breaks. Buying 5,000 shares at 3:26:22 cost $328 more than the screen showed.
- The run began in the 8:00 a.m. minute, when the headline was received. The 3:26 p.m. spike to $4.08 came with no news in the data, and the stock closed the regular session at $3.47.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for VEEA published between the previous session's close and the first minute VEEA traded 20% above it, at 8:00 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.
