The day, step by step

The day before

On September 30, EJH was quiet. It traded between $1.30 and $1.45, opened at $1.38, and only 17,989 shares changed hands. The official close was $1.42.

Pre-market: the 7:15 headline

The first trade on the 1st came at 4:23 a.m., one share at $1.40. For hours it was thin. It moved above the $1.42 close at 5:39 a.m. and drifted between $1.43 and $1.69 on small volume.

At 7:09 the volume picked up and the price pushed to $1.69. Then at 7:15 a.m. PRNewsWire ran the headline: “E-Home Launches a Dedicated AI Service Robot for China's Household Services Market”. That minute opened at $1.61 and hit $1.80, the pre-market high, on 152,622 shares. It closed the minute at $1.66. The headline and the spike came in the same minute.

The spike did not hold. By 7:18 it was $1.54, and at 7:25 it was back under the previous close at $1.41. At 7:50 a.m. it touched $1.30, down 28% from $1.80. By the bell, 592,911 shares had traded.
