Before the open
On September 25, KNRX closed at $0.30 on 9,631 shares. That is a very quiet stock with a float of 18.89 million shares.
At 12:15 a.m. on the 28th the company filed an EFFECT notice (a registration went effective). Pre-market was almost empty. The first trade came at 9:24 a.m. at $0.32. It was 38 shares, and that was all that traded before the bell. The pre-market high was $0.32.
The open and the wall at $0.83
It opened at $0.32, up 5% from the previous close. For five minutes nothing happened. Then at 9:35 it moved. From $0.32 it ran to $0.41, and at 9:36 it traded through $0.50 for the first time. At 9:36:48 it was halted (a volatility pause) and reopened at 9:41:48.
After the reopen it ran to $0.76 at 9:45, up 139% from the 9:35 start. Then it dropped to $0.59 at 9:46, down 23% from the high.
This is the part a chart doesn't show you. From 9:43 on, someone was offering a lot of stock at exactly $0.83. The size grew past 100,000 shares, close to 0.8% of the float.
Stop It's 9:51. KNRX is at $0.73. Stock has been offered at $0.83, just above, since 9:43. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 9:51 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 9:48 a.m. ET.
Here's what happened. Trading at $0.83 began at 9:51:56. In 4.8 seconds, 169,822 shares traded at exactly $0.83 and the wall was gone. It wasn't pulled. Buyers ate it.
Halts, $1.00 and a $1.39 high
It was halted at 9:52:24 and reopened at 9:57:24 at $0.88. Two more halts followed, at 9:58:58 and 10:04:36. The reopens came at $0.88, $1.07 and $1.24, each higher than the one before.
At 9:58 it traded through $1.00 for the first time. By 10:03, more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (18.89 million). From $0.59 at 9:46 it ran to $1.39 at 10:09, up 136%.
Then it gave much of that back. It fell to $0.87 at 10:25, down 37% from $1.39. It bounced to $1.07 at 10:26, then fell to $0.85 at 10:28. By then it had been halted seven times in all, including at 10:10, 10:20 and 10:28.
From $0.88 at 10:39 it ran to $1.17 at 10:45, up 33%. Then it slid to $0.81 at 11:05, down 31%.
Walls at $1.19 and $1.21
More walls sat on the book. At 10:33 stock appeared for sale at $1.19, and ten seconds later at $1.21. Each reached about 135,000 shares, around 0.7% of the float. Both sat there for over an hour while the price chopped between $0.81 and $1.17.
At 11:32 another wall appeared, at $1.00. It peaked at 138,383 shares and was eaten at 11:35:52, with 131,111 shares trading at exactly $1.00 in about eight seconds.
Stop It's 11:44. KNRX is at $1.14. Stock has been offered at $1.19 and $1.21, just above, since 10:33. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 11:44 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 11:41 a.m. ET.
Here's what happened. Starting at 11:44:18, 153,094 shares traded at exactly $1.19 in 8.1 seconds, and that wall was gone at 11:44:27. At 11:45:03 another 132,343 shares traded at exactly $1.21 in 4.1 seconds. Both were eaten, not pulled.
This time the book above was deeper. A 5,000-share buy right after the $1.19 wall broke would have averaged $1.20, exactly the screen price, with 47,639 shares offered there. After the $1.21 wall, the same order averaged $1.28, again the screen price. At 11:45 the minute high was $1.29, and at 11:45:37 it was halted.
$1.52, then a two-hour halt
It reopened at $1.37 at 11:50:37. A single print of 280,787 shares went through at $1.37. It ran to $1.52 in that same minute, up 11%.
At 11:51 it was halted with the last trade at $1.22. This time it stayed halted almost two hours. It reopened at 1:45 p.m. at $0.95, 22% below where it stopped. The first print of the reopen was 333,245 shares at $0.95.
While it was halted, an ask wall of 250,000 shares (1.3% of the float) appeared at $0.989 at 12:30. It was pulled at 1:28 p.m., before the reopen.
The news and the top at $1.60
At 1:21 p.m., during the halt, the company filed a 6-K (a foreign company's current report). At 1:54 p.m. Business Wire carried this headline: "KNOREX Ltd. Pursues Strategic Carve-Out of AscendX Publisher Monetization Business with External Growth Capital."
After the reopen it fell to $0.89 at 1:45 p.m., down 41% from $1.52. From there it climbed to $1.35 by 1:56 p.m., when it was halted again with the last trade at $1.35. It reopened at 2:01 p.m. at $1.36.
From $0.96 at 1:48 it ran to $1.60, the high of the day, at 2:01. That is up 426% from the $0.30 previous close. The next minute, 2:02, it traded as low as $1.34.
The rest of the day
The pushes after the top were lower: $1.58 at 2:02 and $1.55 at 2:03, both under $1.60. Then more halts, at 2:05, 2:15 and 2:22. It went from $1.44 at 2:21 to $1.06 at 2:29.
It rebuilt slowly. A wall of 137,303 shares formed at $1.50 by 3:18. At 3:31 it hit $1.40. At 3:32 it was halted for the 14th and last time, and it reopened at 3:37 at $1.40, reaching $1.46. After that it slid and closed at $1.23.
For the regular session, 94.10 million shares traded: the float changed hands about 5 times, at over 5,000 times its normal volume.
After hours
After hours it hit $1.40 at 4:13 p.m. Then it drifted lower. By 7:21 p.m. it was $0.79, down 43% from that print. Another 14.34 million shares traded after the close.
What to take from it
- A big ask wall can break in seconds. The $0.83 wall was eaten in 4.8 seconds, and the book above it was thin. The same move at $1.19 and $1.21 cost nothing extra, because more stock was offered above.
- A halt can reopen lower than it stopped. The 11:51 halt stopped at $1.22 and reopened at $0.95.
- After hours can give back a lot. It traded at $1.40 at 4:13 p.m. and at $0.79 by 7:21 p.m.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for KNRX published between the previous session's close and the first minute KNRX traded 20% above it, at 9:35 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.
How it traded
Intraday run. It opened up 4.9% at 0.3190, then ran from the open to the high of 1.60 in 271 minutes through 10 halts.

The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
