Pre-market and the open
PARA closed the day before at $0.89. The first trades on the 24th came at 4:01 a.m. at $0.98, and that was the pre-market high. It slid to $0.85 by 4:13 a.m. After that it barely traded. 2,145 shares changed hands before the bell.
It opened at $0.90, up 2% from the previous close. The first print was 14,588 shares at $0.90 at 9:30:01. Then it crept. By 9:52 it was $0.93, and it spent most of the next quarter hour in the low $0.90s.
10:06 to 10:19: the climb to $1.45
The move began at 10:06, when the minute ran to $0.95 on 10,710 shares. At 10:12 it cleared the pre-market high of $0.98. At 10:15 it touched $1.00 on 12,436 shares.
Then the volume arrived. The 10:17 minute traded 59,257 shares and the 10:18 minute 189,056. The 10:19 minute traded 299,707 shares and ran from $1.27 to $1.45.
At 10:19:59 it was halted (a volatility pause), with the last trade at $1.45.
The halt, the reopen, and the $1.45 bid
Around the halt, buyers were stacking bids at exactly $1.45. The first wall was seen at 10:19:45 and peaked at 203,962 shares at 10:19:59, 7.6% of the float. It was pulled at 10:21:09. Three seconds later a new bid appeared at $1.45.
It reopened at 10:29:59 at $1.60, 10% above where it stopped. A single print of 193,277 shares went through at $1.60 at 10:29:59. That was the high so far. Within seconds sellers were hitting the bid. A 15,820-share sell swept from $1.59 down to $1.55 across five levels at 10:29:59. Another 13,555 shares swept $1.55 to $1.52 a second later.
Stop It's 10:30. PARA is at $1.56, just under the $1.60 high that printed a second ago. A bid sits at $1.45 below. Would you buy here?

In 0.7 seconds, 28,332 shares traded at exactly $1.45 and the wall was gone by 10:30:05. It wasn't pulled. Sellers hit it. Two sell sweeps went through the area in those two seconds: 21,591 shares from $1.50 to $1.45 at 10:30:03, then 20,730 shares from $1.45 to $1.39 at 10:30:04.
The second halt
At 10:30:24 it was halted again (a volatility pause), with the last trade at $1.28. It reopened at 10:35:24 at $1.18, 8% below where it stopped. A 70,533-share print went through at $1.18 as it reopened. The 10:35 minute traded between $1.10 and $1.20.
Stop It's 10:36. PARA reopened from its second halt at $1.18 and traded as low as $1.10 in the last minute. It is at $1.18 now. The high so far was $1.60, six minutes ago. Would you buy this bounce?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 10:36 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 10:33 a.m. ET.
It fell to $0.97 at 10:36, down 39% from $1.60. A 34,776-share sell swept from $1.11 to $1.06 at 10:36:06.
It bounced once more. At 10:37 it pushed to $1.20, a lower high under the $1.60 top. An ask wall appeared at $1.20 at 10:37:07 and peaked at 49,392 shares at 10:45:06 (1.8% of the float). After 10:37 the price did not trade above $1.09. At 10:41 a 20,913-share sell swept from $0.98 to $0.95, and the 10:41 minute closed at $0.91. The 10:44 minute dipped to $0.785.
The rest of the day
By 10:49 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (2.69 million). Most of that volume came in the 30 minutes after 10:15.
The fade continued. It was $0.71 at 11:08, the low after the open. Then it settled into a narrow range, mostly $0.74 to $0.82, for the afternoon. Ask walls of about 41,000 shares sat at $0.78 from 11:59 a.m. and at $0.80 from 1:18 p.m.; the first was pulled at 1:18 p.m. and the second at 1:22 p.m. Another formed at $0.82 from 1:48 p.m. and was 43,010 shares at its peak at 3:57 p.m.
The 3:59 minute dropped to $0.76 on 49,025 shares and ended at $0.79. For the regular session, 3.40 million shares traded: the float changed hands about 1.3 times, at 65 times its normal volume.
After hours
At 5:01 p.m. the company filed an amended 8-K (a current report). The headline in our data says nothing more. After hours, 224,414 shares traded. The after-hours high was $0.86 at 5:17 p.m. At 6:59 p.m. it dropped to $0.67, the low of the day, on 19,093 shares.
What to take from it
- A halt can reopen higher than it stopped, and the move can still be over. The 10:19 halt stopped at $1.45 and reopened at $1.60, the high of the day. The stock was at $1.28 within 30 seconds.
- A big bid wall seen during a halt is not a floor. The 203,962-share wall at $1.45 was pulled. The 40,508-share wall that replaced it was eaten in 0.7 seconds.
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $1.60 at 10:29, then $1.20 at 10:37. At 3:59 p.m. it was $0.79, about half of the high.

The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
The day in numbers
- Volume, from the one-minute bars: 2,145 shares before the 9:30 a.m. open (0%), 19,739 in the first 30 minutes (1%), and 3.61 million in the rest of the day to 8 p.m. (99%).
- Float rotation, the volume since 4 a.m. against the float of 2.69 million shares: past it once at 10:49 a.m.
- The halt at 10:19 a.m.: up 46.0% in the 5 minutes into it, reopened at 1.60, up 10.3% from the last trade before it, then down 20.0% over the next 5 minutes.
