The day before
On September 15, ZTG was quiet. It opened at $0.75 and traded between $0.67 and $0.75, on just 60,874 shares. The official close was $0.67.
Pre-market: a spike at 7:05, the top at 7:25
The first trade on the 16th was at 4:04 a.m., at about $0.70. For the next two hours it traded in small lots between $0.675 and $0.75.
At 6:03 a.m. the company filed a 6-K (a foreign company's current report). The headline says only that. The stock was around $0.72 that minute and stayed between about $0.72 and $0.77 for the next hour.
The move began at 7:05 a.m. The minute before, 1,610 shares traded. In the 7:05 minute, 182,229 did. It went from $0.80 to $0.96. It passed $1.00 at 7:06 and $2.00 at 7:07, and hit $2.77 at 7:07, up 245% from where the move began at $0.80. It dipped to $2.07 in the next minute.
It kept doing this: a spike, then a drop. It touched $3.20 at 7:11, its first trade through $3.00, then $2.54 a minute later. It reached $3.07 at 7:21.
The high so far came at 7:25 a.m.: $3.62, up 438% from the $0.67 close. That minute traded 1.12 million shares and closed at $3.12. 27.34 million shares traded before the bell.
It did not get back there before the open. It pushed to $3.20 at 7:30 and $3.01 at 7:40, both under the high. By 7:54 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (16.57 million). After that it drifted down, with a low of $2.04 at 8:37, and was around $2.30 by 9:29.
The open and the first two halts
It opened at $2.32, up 245% from the previous close. It slid from the first minute. It was down to $2.03 in the 9:35 minute.

Here's what happened. A 90,302-share buy order went up through 14 price levels at 11:04:10. At 11:04:28 trades began printing at $2.05. In 34.4 seconds, 387,654 shares traded at exactly $2.05 and the wall was gone by 11:05:03. It wasn't pulled. Buyers ate it.
After the wall
It was halted at 11:05:18 and reopened at 11:10:18 with a 72,750-share print at $2.05. It was halted again at 11:10:52 and reopened at 11:15:52 with a 78,680-share print at $2.20.
Stop It's 11:16. ZTG is at $2.17. The $2.05 wall is gone, and the stock reopened from its last halt seconds ago at $2.20. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 11:16 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 11:13 a.m. ET.
Two buy orders swept through the book at 11:16:02, one of 69,710 shares and one of 59,365. The 11:16 minute reached $2.35, the high after the wall broke. At 11:16:45 it was halted again, with the last trade at $2.14.
It was halted four times between 11:16 a.m. and 11:44 a.m. Three of the reopens were lower than where the stock stopped: $2.07 at 11:26:45, $1.95 at 11:32:58 and $1.72 at 11:38:37. The fourth reopened higher, at $1.91 at 11:44:07.
The rest of the day
After the last halt it was $1.78 by 11:46. From 11:47 through 12:58 it traded between $1.57 and $1.87. A bid wall at $1.65, peaking at 129,334 shares, was pulled at 12:35:30. A bid wall at $1.36 was pulled at 1:21:45. By 1:30 p.m. the price was $1.26.
The low after the open was $1.06 at 3:44 p.m. The last regular-session minute swung from $1.07 to $1.23, and it closed at $1.19. That's 67% under the $3.62 high, and 77% above the $0.67 previous close.
The high came before the bell, at 7:25 a.m., 56% above the $2.32 9:30 open. It was halted nine times, all between 9:44 and 11:44 a.m.
Volume: 27.34 million pre-market, 17.64 million in the regular session, 3.68 million after hours. For the whole day, 48.66 million shares traded: the float changed hands about 3 times, at 34 times its normal volume.
After hours
After hours it sat near $1.10 for most of the first hour. Then it ran from $1.20 at 4:53 p.m. to $1.80 at 4:59 p.m., up 50%, and gave a good part back by 5:07, when it traded as low as $1.34. The last bar, at 7:59 p.m., closed at $1.50.
What to take from it
- A big ask wall can break fast, but what follows isn't always thin. Here 387,654 shares traded at $2.05 in 34 seconds, and a 5,000-share order right after cost $10 over the screen.
- Halt reopens are thin and can land far from where the halt began. The 9:44 halt stopped at $1.95 and reopened at $1.51, and a 5,000-share buy at the 11:26 reopen cost $194 more than the screen.
- The top came before the bell, and the pushes after it were lower. $3.62 at 7:25 a.m., then $3.20 at 7:30 and $3.01 at 7:40. It closed at $1.19, 67% under the high.
