Pre-market and the open: almost nothing traded
The official previous close was $0.37. Only 11 shares traded before the bell, across three minutes. The pre-market high was $0.37 at 7:26 a.m.
It opened at $0.36 with 150 shares. The next trade was 100 shares at $0.36 at 10:01. After that, nothing traded until 10:15.
10:15: the headline and the first run
At 10:15 a.m. GlobeNewsWire ran: “Green Circle Decarbonize Technology Limited Entering into Strategic Partnership Agreement for Mass Production of BocaPCM-TES Panels in the People's Republic of China”. The first trade in that minute was $0.38, above the pre-market high. By 10:19 it had reached $0.52.
At 10:20 a.m. the company filed a 6-K (a foreign company's current report). The stock fell to $0.38 at 10:22, down 28% from the $0.52 high three minutes earlier.
Then it turned. From $0.40 at 10:23 it ran to $0.63 at 10:31, up 60%. The 10:31 minute alone traded 1.8 million shares. By 10:32, more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (7.19 million). It then slid to $0.43 at 10:44, down 32% from the top of that run.
The wall at $0.60
From 10:55 a.m. on, someone was offering a lot of stock at exactly $0.60. The stock was back near $0.54 by then, so the wall sat just above it.
Stop It's 11:06. GCDT is at $0.59. A large ask wall has sat at exactly $0.60 since 10:55. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 11:06 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 11:03 a.m. ET.
The wall peaked at 100,522 shares at 11:06:11, about 1.4% of the float. At 11:06:23 shares began trading at $0.60. In under a second, 154,871 shares traded at exactly $0.60 and the wall was gone. It wasn't pulled. Buyers ate it.
The run went on to $0.67 at 11:14, up 52% from $0.44 at 10:53. From $0.57 at 11:20 it ran to $0.86 at 11:30, up 51%. That $0.86 was the high of the day so far.
A second ask wall formed at $0.82 (about 104,000 shares at its peak). At 11:50 it was eaten the same way. About 108,700 shares traded there over roughly five seconds.
The drop to $0.63
It pushed to $0.83 at 11:45 and again at 11:50, then fell to $0.63 at 12:07, down 24%. By 12:12 that was ten times the float traded.
A bid wall at $0.61 also showed up. It first appeared at 11:37, vanished at 11:43, then came back at 11:43:50. It peaked at 157,200 shares at 12:37 and was pulled at 2:29 p.m. From 12:12 until 3:20 the stock held between about $0.65 and $0.79.
3:30: the $0.80 wall
A third ask wall had been sitting at $0.80 since 11:54 a.m. It peaked at 136,600 shares at 1:02 p.m. and stayed for hours. Late in the day the stock started to climb toward it: from $0.69 at 3:20 to $0.78 by 3:29.
Stop It's 3:30. GCDT is at $0.77. A large ask wall has sat at $0.80 since 11:54 a.m. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 3:30 p.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 3:27 p.m. ET.
At 3:30:33 a single buy order swept through 86 price levels, from $0.79 to $0.82, and 97,629 shares traded at exactly $0.80. The wall was gone by 3:30:34. The 3:30 minute traded 1.6 million shares and closed at $0.93.
At 3:30:59 it was halted (a volatility pause) with the last trade at $0.93. It reopened at 3:35:59 at $1.02, about 10% above where it stopped. A single print of 254,885 shares crossed at $1.02 at the reopen.
The top and the fade
From the reopen it ran to $1.17, the high of the day, in the 3:35 minute. That was up 213% from the previous close. The next minute it dipped to $1.01 before closing at $1.06.
A bid wall of about 105,500 shares appeared at $1.04 at 3:38. At 3:39 the stock pushed to $1.12, a lower high under $1.17. At 3:40:39 a 98,874-share sell sweep went through, and the wall was gone a second later. The 3:40 minute dipped to $0.98.
It kept fading: $0.94 at 3:54, and $0.93 at the close.
By the close, 115.39 million shares had traded: the float changed hands about 16 times, at 309 times its normal volume.
After hours
After hours it bounced to $1.10 at 4:47 p.m. Then it slid to $0.71 by 7:04 p.m., down 36%. After-hours volume was 18.3 million shares.
What to take from it
- A big ask wall can break quickly, and what is behind it varies. At $0.60 a 5,000-share buy filled almost at the screen price. At $0.80, one second after the break, the best offer was $0.8559 for only 92 shares, and a 5,000-share buy averaged $0.8592, $16 more than the screen.
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $1.17 in the 3:35 minute, then $1.12 at 3:39. The stock closed at $0.93.
- After hours can undo the bounce. It traded at $1.10 at 4:47 p.m. and at $0.71 by 7:04 p.m.
