Pre-market: $3.97 at 5:38 a.m.
The day before, FLYE traded 14,098 shares and the official close was $1.36. The first trades on the 1st came at 5:35 a.m., around $1.45, already above that close.
At 5:37 a.m. it opened at $1.50 and ran to $2.28. In the next minute it hit $3.97, the high so far, at 5:38 a.m., up 192% from the previous close. That minute alone traded 133,310 shares.
The wall at $2.89
At 5:39:34 a.m., just after the high, a lot of stock appeared for sale at exactly $2.89. It peaked at 131,928 shares at 5:40:54, about 9% of the float. In the 5:40 and 5:41 minutes the stock sat between $2.88 and $2.89.
Stop It's 5:42 a.m. FLYE is at $2.88, after touching $3.97 four minutes ago. An ask wall at $2.89 has been as large as 131,928 shares. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 5:42 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 5:39 a.m. ET.
Here's what happened. At 5:42:32 the wall was pulled. Only 432 shares traded at $2.89 in that time, so buyers didn't eat it. The size left the book. The 5:42 candle dropped to $2.29 and closed at $2.36. By 5:43 it was at $2.23.
It ran to $2.57 at 5:44 a.m., then fell to $2.01 at 5:46 a.m., down 22%.
By 6:08 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (1.46 million). A 21,556-share print at $2.25 went through in that same minute. At 8:07 a.m. the stock was down to $1.60. Pre-market volume ended at 5.60 million shares.
The open
It opened at $1.80, up 32% from the previous close. By 9:32 it touched $2.00, and by 9:43 it traded to $2.57 on 731,340 shares in one minute. By 9:54 a.m. more than eight times the float had traded.
Stop It's 9:55. FLYE is at $2.47, up from the $1.80 open and just under the $2.57 highs from 9:43 and 9:52. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 9:55 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 9:52 a.m. ET.
The 9:55 minute was the heaviest of the day: 914,740 shares. A 45,959-share buy order swept from $2.59 to $2.63 across five price levels at 9:55:38. It pushed to $2.79 at 9:55 a.m., the regular-session high so far and a lower high under the $3.97 top.
Then it turned. The 10:00 candle opened at $2.39 and fell to $2.07. At 10:00:36 it was halted (a volatility pause). At 10:00:23, stock first appeared for sale at $2.07; that wall peaked at 72,456 shares at 10:00:33, 5% of the float.
It reopened at 10:05:36 at $2.10. A single 103,035-share print went through at $2.10, and the $2.07 offer was gone one second later. A bid wall of up to 57,338 shares had been building at $2.07 since 10:01:30. It was pulled at 10:07:22, after 9,917 shares traded at $2.07.
The slide went on. At 10:09 a 39,413-share sell swept from $2.01 to $1.97, and the low that minute was $1.94. After the open the low so far came at 11:11, $1.71.
The wall at $2.30
Between 12:23:53 and 12:24:03, three buy orders swept the book: 54,807 shares from $2.15 to $2.24, then 41,548 from $2.23 to $2.27, then 37,965 from $2.26 to $2.30.

Here's what happened. At 2:22:00 a 58,804-share buy order swept from $2.21 to $2.30 across ten price levels, and 11,559 shares traded at exactly $2.30. One second later the wall was gone. The 2:22 candle reached $2.38 on 208,513 shares. At 2:24 another buy order of 59,659 shares swept $2.37 to $2.40.
The afternoon high was $2.44 at 2:55 p.m. At 3:29 an 85,900-share sell swept from $2.21 to $2.16 across six levels.
The close and after hours
It closed at $2.17, 45% under the $3.97 high of the day. That high came before the bell, at 5:38 a.m., 121% above the $1.80 open.
The regular session traded 21.11 million shares, on top of 5.60 million pre-market. By the close, about 26.71 million shares had traded: the float changed hands about 18 times, and the whole day ran at over 6,000 times its normal volume. After hours added 3.02 million more.
After hours it ran from $2.01 in the 4:09 p.m. minute to $2.69 at 5:15 p.m., up 34%.
At 5:23 p.m., after the close, the company filed a 10-Q (the quarterly report). At 5:38 p.m., PRNewsWire ran: “Fly-E Group, Inc. Announces First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2027 Financial Results”. The stock was at $2.55 at 5:23 p.m. and $2.47 at 5:38 p.m.
What to take from it
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $3.97 at 5:38 a.m., then $2.79 at 9:55 a.m.
- Chasing a spike costs more than the screen says. At 5:38:08 a.m. a 5,000-share buy averaged $3.60 against $2.28 on screen. After the 10:05 reopen the same order cost nothing extra.
- A wall can be pulled or eaten, and you can't tell which in advance. The $2.89 wall was pulled and the stock fell. The $2.30 wall was swept in a second and the stock jumped.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for FLYE published between the previous session's close and the first minute FLYE traded 20% above it, at 5:36 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.
No news found before the move.
How it traded
Gap, run and fade. It gapped up 32.4% to 1.80 at the open, ran from the open to the high of 2.79 in 25 minutes, then gave back 63% of that move by 4:00 p.m., trading at 2.17.
| Time (ET) | What happened | Watch it |
|---|---|---|
| 5:36 a.m. | First trade 20% above the previous close of 1.36 | |
| 5:38 a.m. | Pre-market high, 3.97 | |
| 5:38 a.m. | High of the day to the close, 3.97 | |
| 6:08 a.m. | Volume since 4:00 a.m. passes the whole float, 1.46 million shares | |
| 9:30 a.m. | The open: 1.80, up 32.4% from the previous close | |
| 10:00 a.m. | Halted: LULD pause (limit up-limit down). Trading resumes at 10:05 a.m. | |
| 3:59 p.m. | Last trade before the 4:00 p.m. close, 2.17, 45.3% below the high |
The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
The day in numbers
- Volume, from the one-minute bars: 5.60 million shares before the 9:30 a.m. open (19%), 9.45 million in the first 30 minutes (32%), and 14.67 million in the rest of the day to 8 p.m. (49%).
- Float rotation, the volume since 4 a.m. against the float of 1.46 million shares: past it once at 6:08 a.m., twice at 6:55 a.m., three times at 7:25 a.m.
- The halt at 10:00 a.m.: down 21.9% in the 5 minutes into it, reopened at 2.10, up 1.4% from the last trade before it, then down 4.3% over the next 5 minutes.
