Then at 7:42 a.m. the volume arrived. By 7:43 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (436,783). The pre-market high was $9.67 at 7:43 a.m.

It did not hold. It fell to $6.28 at 7:58 a.m., down 35% from $9.67. From $6.41 at 8:04 a.m. it ran back to $7.89 at 8:26 a.m., up 23%. 1.84 million shares traded before the bell.
