Pre-market: the float traded by 7:16 a.m.
The previous close was $5.15. The first trade of the 21st was $5.20 at 4:01 a.m. At 4:29 a.m. it dipped to $4.83, the low so far. Then it was quiet for hours, mostly between $5.01 and $5.46 on small volume.
At 7:09 a.m. it woke up. It ran to $6.32, up 31% from $4.83. Three minutes later it was down to $5.04 at 7:12 a.m., 20% under that high. Then it ran straight to $7.30 at 7:14 a.m., up 45% from $5.04. By 7:16 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (588,068).
The big spike came at 7:22 a.m. It went from $6.36 at 7:20 to the pre-market high, $10.21 at 7:22 a.m. By 7:26 a.m. it was back to $8.12, down 20%. By 7:47 a.m., pre-market volume had passed ten times the float. By the bell, 12.31 million shares had traded.
It kept swinging. From $7.61 at 7:31 it ran to $9.86 at 7:47, then to $9.98 at 7:59. Then it fell to $7.35 at 8:22 a.m., down 26% from that high.
The 8:55 headline and the open
At 8:55 a.m. Benzinga ran: "Jupiter Neurosciences Stock Surges Friday: What's Driving the Action?" The stock was around $8.60 at that minute. In the same minute, a bid wall of 50,072 shares (8.5% of the float) showed up at $7.37. It was pulled at 9:06 a.m.
It opened at $8.25, up 60% from the previous close. Through 9:55 it chopped between $7.66 and $9.17. It had a spike at 9:33, when a buy of 42,052 shares swept from $8.83 to $9.10 across 28 price levels.
The wall at $9.00
This is the part a chart doesn't show you.
From 9:39 a.m. someone was offering a lot of stock at exactly $9.00. It peaked at 42,644 shares at 9:43 (7.2% of the float). That's a lot of stock for a float this small. At 10:00 the stock ran into it. A 27,355-share buy swept up to $9.00, and the high of that minute was $9.00.
Stop It's 10:01. JUNS is at $8.79. An ask wall at $9.00 has been on the book since 9:39 and peaked at 42,644 shares. The stock just touched $9.00 and was turned back. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 10:01 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 9:58 a.m. ET.
Here's what happened. At 10:01:10, 5,032 shares traded at exactly $9.00. At 10:01:11 the wall was gone. It wasn't eaten. The size left the book, and only that 5,032-share slice traded there. Forty-eight seconds later, at 10:01:59, a buy of 65,581 shares swept from $9.17 to $9.55 across 39 price levels. The 10:01 candle closed at $9.55.
The first halt and the top
At 10:02:37 it was halted (a volatility pause) with the last trade at $9.65. It reopened at 10:12:38 at $10.77, 12% above where it stopped. 133,129 shares traded at $10.77 in that first print.
In the reopen minute it hit $11.20, the high so far. A 40,281-share sell swept from $11.03 down to $10.00 across 67 price levels. By 10:14 it was down to $9.50.
It tried again. At 10:14 it pushed to $10.89 and at 10:15 to $10.69, both under the $11.20 top. At 10:18 it fell to $9.17, and it did not get back above $10.10 again. By 10:36 it was at $8.78.
12:20 p.m.: the offering headline
From 10:36 on it drifted, mostly between $8.10 and $9.00, with volume falling. By 12:19 it was at $8.40.
Stop It's 12:20. JUNS is at $8.36. The company has just announced the pricing of a $2.0 million registered direct offering. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 12:20 p.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 12:17 p.m. ET.
At 12:20 GlobeNewsWire ran: "Jupiter Neurosciences Announces Pricing of $2.0 Million Registered Direct Offering." At 12:20:00 two sells swept the book, 24,909 shares from $8.00 to $7.81 and 25,836 shares from $7.80 to $7.66. At 12:20:16 it was halted with the last trade at $7.42. The halt lasted 25 minutes.
It reopened at 12:45:17 at $5.50, 26% below where it stopped. 163,615 shares traded at $5.50 in the opening print, and 29,178 at $6.00.
Fifteen seconds later, at 12:45:32, it was halted again with the last trade at $6.05. It reopened at 12:50:32 at $6.04.
Meanwhile the book above was heavy. From 12:21 someone was offering stock at exactly $6.50. It peaked at 53,671 shares at 12:46 (9.1% of the float). Two other walls showed up above it: $7.86 (peak 59,859 shares, pulled at 12:22) and $7.00 (first seen at 12:20).
Stop It's 12:52. JUNS is at $6.10, after the 12:50 reopen. An ask wall at $6.50 peaked at 53,671 shares at 12:46 and is still on the book. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 12:52 p.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 12:49 p.m. ET.
Here's what happened. At 12:52:38 the wall was pulled. The high of that minute was $6.75, above the wall's price. By 1:31 p.m. it was down to $5.74.
The rest of the day
From 1:45 p.m. to the close it stayed between $5.80 and $6.45. It closed at $6.18, 45% under the $11.20 high of the day. After hours it reached $6.78 at 5:36 p.m. and the last after-hours bar closed at $6.23.
Regular-session volume was 11.80 million shares. Pre-market added 12.31 million and after hours 215,937. For the whole day, 24.33 million shares traded: the float changed hands about 41 times, at 801 times its normal volume.
What to take from it
- A wall that disappears is not a wall that was beaten. The $9.00 wall left the book at 10:01:11 with only 5,032 shares trading there. What you see on the book can leave quickly.
- A halt can reopen lower than it stopped, and the reopen is thin. The 12:20 halt stopped at $7.42 and reopened at $5.50. After the 10:12 reopen, a 5,000-share buy cost $2,294 more than the screen.
- After the top, the next pushes stopped lower. $11.20 at 10:12, then $10.89 at 10:14 and $10.69 at 10:15. By the close it was at $6.18.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for JUNS published between the previous session's close and the first minute JUNS traded 20% above it, at 7:09 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.
No news found before the move.
How it traded
Gap, run and fade. It gapped up 60.2% to 8.25 at the open, ran from the open to the high of 11.20 in 42 minutes through a halt, then gave back 168% of that move by 4:00 p.m., trading at 6.23.

| 3:59 p.m. | Last trade before the 4:00 p.m. close, 6.23, 44.4% below the high |
The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
The day in numbers
