The day, step by step

Almost nothing for three hours

The previous close was $0.91. The day before, only 2,078 shares traded. Nothing traded pre-market, and our data has no headline for the day.

It opened at $0.83 at 9:30, down 9%, on 210 shares. The low of the morning was $0.80 at 9:40. At 9:45 it ran to $1.00 on about 2,000 shares and was back near $0.86 by 9:47.

After that, many minutes passed with no trades at all. It printed $0.97 at 9:54, then $0.94 at 10:50 and $0.92 at 10:59. At 11:51 it moved to $1.10 on about 2,000 shares. From then until 12:19 it moved between about $0.98 and $1.13 on small volume.

The first halt, and the $1.60 reopen

The 12:20 minute went from $1.10 to $1.31 and closed at $1.27. At 12:20:25 it was halted (a volatility pause). It reopened at 12:30:25 at $1.60, 26% above the last trade before the halt. The first print was 32,451 shares at $1.60.

The 12:30 minute reached $1.92, up 20% from the reopen, on about 217,000 shares. That was more than the whole morning had traded.

Stop It's 12:33. BRLS is at $1.86, more than double the $0.91 previous close. It reopened from a halt at $1.60 less than three minutes ago and has not yet traded $2.00. Would you buy here?

A lower high, a wall above, a wall below

By 1:01 p.m. the price was $1.35. By 1:14 p.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (7.86 million). It bounced to $1.77 by 1:17, then slid again. At 1:30:14 a seller swept 64,639 shares through 12 levels, from $1.48 to $1.37.
