The day before
On August 14, TRUG ran from $0.94 to a high of $1.48. It gave almost all of it back and closed at $0.97.
The last bar of that day printed $1.47. So the stock reached the 17th already well above its official close.
4:00 a.m.: the float traded in three minutes
The first trades on the 17th were at $1.56, already above the $0.97 close. The low so far, $1.30, printed in that first minute. By the end of 4:00 it was at $1.79.
By 4:02 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (1.18 million). The 4:02 minute alone traded 621,728 shares.
The high so far came in that same minute: $2.05 at 4:02 a.m., 111% above the previous close. It was 28% above where the stock later opened. Within four minutes it was back at $1.67.
At 4:03 it reached $2.03, just under the top. At 4:08 a.m. it pushed to $1.82, a lower high under the $2.05 top. A large ask had been showing at $2.00 since 4:06:55. By 5:03 a.m. the stock was at $1.51.
Pre-market: a few jolts, then the open
The rest of pre-market was mostly quiet, with a few sudden minutes. At 5:53 a.m. it fell from $1.53 to $1.43 on 215,476 shares. It bottomed at $1.38 at 5:57. At 7:21 it jumped to $1.63 on 194,214 shares. At 8:29 it jumped from $1.47 to $1.61 on 243,024 shares.
12.03 million shares traded before the bell.

The bid at $1.50

Stop It's 9:32. TRUG is at $1.55, down from the $1.60 open. A large bid is sitting at $1.50, just below. Would you buy here?

After hours
At 4:19 p.m., after the close, Benzinga ran: “TruGolf Shares Surge Monday: What's Driving the Action?”. The stock was at $1.56 then.
It moved up after that. By 4:22 p.m. it had printed $1.77. Some very thin prints went higher: $1.90 at 4:29 and $2.00 at 6:39 p.m., each in a minute that traded a few hundred to 14,299 shares and closed far lower. After hours traded 1,009,201 shares, and the last bar, at 7:59 p.m., closed at $1.65.
What to take from it
- A big bid at a round number can be eaten in seconds. Here 93,021 shares traded at $1.50 in 7.4 seconds and the bid was gone, because sellers hit it.
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $2.05 at 4:02 a.m., then $2.03 at 4:03 and $1.82 at 4:08 a.m. Later, $1.80 at 10:23 stayed under the pre-market top.
- The float traded over in the first three minutes. By 4:02 a.m. more shares had traded than the float holds, and the high of the day was already in.
Why it ran
News and SEC filings for TRUG published between the previous session's close and the first minute TRUG traded 20% above it, at 4:00 a.m. ET, newest first, from the same feeds the replay shows.
No news found before the move.
How it traded
Gap, run and fade. It gapped up 65.0% to 1.60 at the open, ran from the open to the high of 1.80 in 53 minutes, then gave back 130% of that move by 4:00 p.m., trading at 1.54.
| Time (ET) | What happened | Watch it |
|---|---|---|
| 4:00 a.m. | First trade 20% above the previous close of 0.9695 | |
| 4:02 a.m. | Pre-market high, 2.05 | |
| 4:02 a.m. | Volume since 4:00 a.m. passes the whole float, 1.18 million shares | |
| 4:02 a.m. | High of the day to the close, 2.05 | |
| 9:30 a.m. | The open: 1.60, up 65.0% from the previous close | |
| 3:59 p.m. | Last trade before the 4:00 p.m. close, 1.54, 24.9% below the high |
The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
The day in numbers

- Float rotation, the volume since 4 a.m. against the float of 1.18 million shares: past it once at 4:02 a.m., twice at 4:06 a.m., three times at 4:17 a.m.
