The day before
On August 12, GXAI ran from $0.88 to $1.58, then closed at $0.87.
The news came after the close. At 4:10 p.m., GlobeNewsWire ran: "Gaxos Delivers Record Second-Quarter Revenue, Up 35.8% Sequentially and 1,337% Year over Year." The last bar of that day was $1.45, well above the close.
Pre-market: $1.56 at 5:39
The first trades on the 13th were at $1.45, already far above the $0.87 close. It touched $1.53 at 4:02, then sold off to $1.22 at 4:07, down 16% from the open of $1.45 in seven minutes.
After that it chopped between about $1.23 and $1.36 for more than an hour. At 4:58 a bid wall showed up at $1.26. It peaked at 113,288 shares at 4:59 and was pulled at 5:22.
The real push started at 5:20. From $1.31 it climbed, and the high so far was $1.56 at 5:39. That minute had 355,222 shares. It fell back to $1.40 by 5:48, and 20.91 million shares had traded before the bell.
During the 5:48 minute, more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (10.52 million).
It tried again. At 6:26 it pushed to $1.53, a lower high under $1.56. At 7:00 it sold off from $1.45 to $1.35 within three minutes.
The wall at $1.35
At 8:16 offers started to stack up at exactly $1.35. The wall peaked at 105,238 shares at 8:17, about 1% of the float, across all exchanges. The stock sat just below it, around $1.34.
Stop It's 8:18. GXAI is at $1.35. More than 100,000 shares were offered at $1.35 a moment ago, right at the price. Would you buy here?

The open and the fade
It opened at $1.33, up 53% from the previous close. The first minute had 356,490 shares, and one print of 140,378 shares at $1.33 came at 9:30:00.
It then slid. $1.25 at 9:32, $1.22 at 9:50. At 10:17 it jumped to $1.43, including a buy sweep of 75,997 shares, and touched $1.44 at 10:18, but it was back at $1.29 by 10:24.
At 12:09 it broke down. Three sell sweeps went through in about a second (92,031, 70,451 and 79,411 shares), and the stock fell from $1.26 to $1.13 at 12:10, the low after the open.
It recovered slowly and the last regular-session bar (3:59) closed at $1.26. After hours it traded between $1.21 and $1.28.
By the close, 13.34 million shares had traded in the regular session. Counting pre-market, the whole day was 35.03 million: the float changed hands about 3 times, at 39 times its normal volume.
What to take from it
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $1.56 at 5:39, then $1.53 at 6:26. Nothing after 6:26 traded above $1.53.
- The float traded over before the open. By 5:48 more shares had traded than the float holds, so most of the action came before the open.
- A wall can be eaten without a big move. The $1.35 wall went in under 20 seconds, but the stock opened below it at $1.33 and faded.
