The day before
On August 7, XHLD opened at $1.78 and hit $3.80. It pulled back and closed at $2.02.
After hours it was back up to $2.95, so it was a gapper the next morning.
Pre-market: a spike and a range
The first trades on the 10th were at $3.03, already above the $2.02 close. In that first minute it hit $3.55 at 4:00 a.m., the pre-market high. It held near $3.19 for a few minutes.

By 11:08 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (11.90 million).
It came back once more. At 11:13 a.m. it pushed to $4.31, a lower high under the $4.69 top. A last try reached $4.26 at 11:30, and then it fell to $3.52 in the next minute.

After hours
At 4:05 p.m., after the close, PRNewsWire ran: “TEN Holdings Reports Second Quarter 2026 Financial Results”. At the same time the company filed a 10-Q (the quarterly report). At 4:10 p.m. it filed an 8-K (a current report).
The stock was at $3.04 at 4:05 p.m. and $3.04 at 4:10 p.m.
What to take from it
- After the top, every later push stopped lower. $4.69 at 9:53 a.m.; after the 9:54 drop, the best later try was $4.31 at 11:13 a.m.
- A halt can reopen lower than it stopped, and the book is thin right after. The 9:46 a.m. halt stopped at $3.76 and reopened at $3.50. A 5,000-share buy one second later cost $554 more than the screen showed.
- Most of the move was gone by the close. It closed at $3.11, 34% below the $4.69 high.

How it traded
Gap, run and fade. It gapped up 46.0% to 2.95 at the open, ran from the open to the high of 4.69 in 23 minutes through a halt, then gave back 91% of that move by 4:00 p.m., trading at 3.11.
| Time (ET) | What happened | Watch it |
|---|---|---|
| 4:00 a.m. | First trade 20% above the previous close of 2.02 | |
| 4:00 a.m. | Pre-market high, 3.55 | |
| 9:30 a.m. | The open: 2.95, up 46.0% from the previous close | |
| 9:46 a.m. | Halted: LULD pause (limit up-limit down). Trading resumes at 9:51 a.m. | |
| 9:53 a.m. | High of the day to the close, 4.69 | |
| 11:08 a.m. | Volume since 4:00 a.m. passes the whole float, 11.90 million shares | |
| 3:59 p.m. | Last trade before the 4:00 p.m. close, 3.11, 33.7% below the high |
The shape is a fixed rule, not a judgement: gapped 10% or more at the open, ran 10% or more from the open to the high, and faded if it gave back 30% or more of that move by the close.
