It then drifted down as low as $5.65 at 5:23 a.m. At 6:51 a.m. it was at $5.86. Volume came back and it ran to $7.09 at 7:00 a.m. It slid again to $5.85 at 8:03 a.m.

In 2 seconds, 28,648 shares traded at exactly $7.00 and the bid was gone. It wasn't pulled. Sellers hit it. A second sell order of 28,767 shares followed from $7.00 to $6.85.

The rest of the day

From there it sagged to a low of $6.16 at 3:39 p.m. and ended near $6.48 at the close.

After hours it traded between $5.05 and $6.63, with the high at 4:00 p.m. and the low at 4:31 p.m. About 681,000 shares traded after hours.
What to take from it
- A bid wall is a level, not a floor. The 30,000-share bid at $7.00 lasted about 90 seconds. Sellers cleared it in 2 seconds and the price fell to $6.18.
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $8.40 at 12:41 p.m., then $6.89 at 2:44 p.m.
- Two of the three halt reopens were thin. At 12:21 the screen said $7.97 and a 5,000-share buy averaged $8.11. At 12:41 the buy cost $464 more than the screen showed.
