The news came after the close. At 4:10 p.m. GlobeNewsWire ran: “YY Group Eliminates $5.94 Million Second Financing Tranche and Cancels All Outstanding Warrants”. The last bar of that day was $2.19, and $2.19 was also the high of the day.
Pre-market: the float traded in the first minute
The first trades on the 26th were at $2.04, already well above the $1.15 close. The float is only 22,200 shares. The 4:00 a.m. minute alone traded 271,147, more than 12 times the float.
It sold off at first, down to $1.82 by 4:03. It chopped around $2.00 for the next hour and a half. A push at 5:55 a.m. reached $2.29 on 579,048 shares in that one minute, and it gave that back within three minutes.
The real run came at 7:00 a.m. It had climbed from $2.35 to $2.41 in the 6:59 minute, then kept going. At 7:00 a.m. it hit $2.61, the high so far, up 127% from the previous close. The rest of the day
A late push came at 3:49 p.m., to $2.10. At 3:57 a 25,000-share print at $2.08 and a 112,707-share buy sweep from $2.07 to $2.11 took it to $2.13. The last regular-session bar, at 3:59 p.m., closed just under $2.14, 18% under the $2.61 high of the day. That high came before the bell, at 7:00 a.m., 35% above where it opened.
After hours it reached $2.20 at 4:47 p.m., then drifted lower. The last bar, at 7:59 p.m., closed at $1.89. 2.06 million shares traded after hours. The only news in the data is the headline from the night before.
Before the close, 44.06 million shares traded in pre-market and the regular session: the float changed hands about 1,985 times, at about 41 times its normal volume. Of that, 30.81 million was pre-market and 13.25 million was the regular session.
What to take from it
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $2.61 at 7:00 a.m., then $2.29 at 7:35 a.m.
- The float traded over before the open. With a 22,200-share float, the 4:00 a.m. minute alone traded more than 12 times it.
- Walls can be eaten or pulled, and the fill depends on what's behind them. The $1.85 bid and the $1.97 ask were eaten in seconds. The $2.33 ask was pulled. After the $1.97 wall broke, 13,633 shares were offered at the screen price, so a 5,000-share order had no extra cost.
