Pre-market: thin and jumpy
PFSA closed the day before at $3.60. It has a float of just 46,250 shares. That is tiny, so a few thousand shares can move the price a lot. Our data has no headline for the day.
The first trades came at 9:00 a.m., around $3.70. The pre-market high was $4.35 at 9:10 a.m., but that minute traded only 13 shares. A minute later it was back at $3.99. In total, 3,316 shares traded before the bell. It was at $4.01 at 9:29.
The open and $5.00
It opened at $4.08, up 13% from the previous close. At 9:33 it went through the pre-market high of $4.35. At 9:34 it hit $4.75, up 16% from the open. Then it pulled back as low as $4.22 at 9:39.
From there it worked higher in steps: $4.55 at 9:40, then up through $4.97 at 9:45. The volume was picking up too, with 4,388 shares in the 9:44 minute alone.
Stop It's 9:46. PFSA is at $4.96, up from the $4.08 open. The $5.00 round number is just above. Would you buy here?

Three halts in 29 minutes
It reopened at 9:57:30 at $5.58. That is higher than where it stopped. By 9:57, more shares had traded than exist in the whole float. It ran to $6.15 at 9:58, then slid to $5.17 by 9:59.
At 10:00:03 it was halted again, last trade $5.17. This time it reopened lower, at $5.02 at 10:10:03. It fell to $4.85 at 10:10, down 21% from $6.15.

Reopen after the third halt
Stop It's 10:22. PFSA reopened from a halt a minute ago and is at $6.00. It has had three halts already. Would you buy here?
Press play: the real Level 2, time and sales and chart stop at 10:22 a.m. ET for your call, then show what happened. The clip starts at 10:19 a.m. ET.
Here's what happened. In the 10:22 minute it ran to $6.77, the regular-session high of the day, with 62,074 shares traded in that one minute.
At 10:22:54 it was halted a fourth time, with the last trade at $6.77. It reopened at 10:27:54 at $6.69. A single trade of 20,232 shares printed at $6.69 at 10:27:54, which is more than 40% of the float in one trade.
The top did not hold. At 10:28:16 it was halted a fifth time, last trade $6.02. It reopened at 10:33:16 at $5.80. By 10:33 it was at $5.22, and at 10:34:00 it was halted a sixth time. It reopened at 10:39:00 at $5.36 and dropped to $4.68 at 10:39, down 31% from $6.77.
The fade
It bounced. At 10:41 it pushed to $5.50, a lower high under the $6.77 top. By 10:54, about ten times the float had traded.
It kept sliding: $4.06 at 11:05 and a regular-session low of $3.75 at 11:09. The afternoon was quiet. Many minutes had no trades at all. There were small pushes, like $5.10 at 12:36 and $5.20 at 1:09 p.m., but nothing got back near $6.
The last minute before 4 p.m. ended at $4.44. From 9:30 to 4:00, 694,675 shares traded, about 15 times the float, and the stock was halted six times.
After hours: the real high
After the bell it ran from $4.33 at 4:02 p.m. to $4.99 at 4:31. It stayed between $4.44 and $5.17 for the next two hours. At 7:00 p.m. it was at $5.39.
Then it took off. At 7:11 p.m. it ran to $7.06. At 7:21 p.m. it hit $10.19, the high of the whole day, up 135% from $4.33. It was back to $8.93 by the end of the next minute. The 7:59 p.m. minute ended at $8.02. After hours, 1,108,691 shares traded, more than the regular session.
What to take from it
- A tiny float makes halts frequent and reopens thin. Six halts came in 52 minutes. On every fill we measured, 5,000 shares cost more than the screen price right after a reopen.
- After the top, the next push stopped lower. $6.77 at 10:22, then $5.50 at 10:41.
- A halt can reopen higher or lower than it stopped. The 9:47 halt stopped at $5.23 and reopened at $5.58. The 10:00 halt stopped at $5.17 and reopened at $5.02.
