Pre-market: a headline and a two-minute spike

BBLG closed the day before at $0.91.

At 8:00 a.m. GlobeNewsWire ran: “Bone Biologics Achieves 32-Month Validated Shelf Life for rhNELL-1”. The 8:00 bar opened at $0.98, already above the $0.91 close.

The 8:02 minute did the work. It opened at $1.07, hit $1.51, the high so far, and closed at $1.46. That one minute traded 343,902 shares. The next minute, 8:03, traded 660,483 and fell to $0.91 before closing at $1.06.

By 8:06 a.m., more shares had traded than exist in the whole float (1.79 million).

A lower high, then the drop

After the spike it held a range. At 8:06 it pushed to $1.20, a lower high under the $1.51 top. It stayed between about $1.03 and $1.20 for the next several minutes.

At 8:13 the floor went. The candle opened at $1.15 and closed at $0.8535, on 647,877 shares. A 19,190-share sell swept down through 20 price levels at 8:13:17. By 8:14 it traded as low as $0.75.

The bid wall at $0.76

From 8:18 on, a bid wall sat at exactly $0.76. It grew to 30,225 shares at 8:20, about 1.7% of the float.

At 8:22:10, 20,208 shares traded at exactly $0.76 in about a second, and the wall was eaten at 8:22:12. A 22,464-share sell swept from $0.76 to $0.7444. The 8:22 candle low was $0.7021.

Drifting into the open

After that the stock sagged. A 15,439-share print at $0.70 went through at 8:27, and a sell swept down to $0.67 at 8:31. Through the rest of pre-market it mostly sat between about $0.67 and $0.73.

It opened at $0.69, down 24% from the $0.91 close. The regular session traded 1.02 million shares.

The session and after hours

The day was quieter than the morning. It mostly drifted between $0.63 and $0.73. It reached $0.7283 at 11:59.

At 3:46 p.m. it broke lower on 53,934 shares, falling to $0.6276. At 3:55 p.m. it dipped to $0.6185.

The last regular-session bar closed at $0.66.

After hours it reached $0.80 at 5:06 p.m., well below the morning's $1.51.

What to take from it

• The biggest move was in the first few minutes. $1.51 came at 8:02 a.m. and the regular session ended at $0.66, 56% below the high.
• After the top, the next push stopped lower. $1.51 at 8:02, then $1.20 at 8:06.
• A bid wall is not a floor. The $0.76 bid grew to 30,225 shares, then 20,208 shares traded into it in about a second at 8:22 and it was gone.
